KIM ROBINSON, M.ED., BCBA CO-FOUNDER
Before becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and founding Shine Learning Alliance in 2016, Kim worked in Hawaii and California as a Behavioral Therapist and Clinical Supervisor and has experience working with children diagnosed with Down’s syndrome, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, Prader-Willi syndrome, attachment disorder, and ASD. Kim graduated Summa Cum Laude from Chaminade University with a BA in Psychology and completed her Masters of Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University. She has discovered that through Applied Behavior Analysis, she is able to combine her passion for helping children with the science that is on the forefront of behavioral research.

Jessica’s passion for helping children succeed in the classroom began when her own son struggled academically and socially in school. She knew that she had to do something to help him. She was determined to provide him with the skills he needed to be successful. This journey led her in the direction of teaching, she wanted to be an educator that was able to help all children succeed in the classroom.
Throughout her 15+ years career in education, Jessica has worked as a Teacher, Behavior Therapist, and Director of Education in Orange County, California. Her passion for teaching has brought her to the field of Applied Behavior Analysis where she can utilize teaching strategies that are supported by data and research.

Shine utilizes a variety of developmental, academic, and social/emotional assessments to gain a better understanding of your child’s strengths, skills, and areas that may be behind his/her peers. Assessment results help gauge specific areas that need attention and Shine staff will assist in the creation of activities that are able be implemented at home, school, or other social situations.
ABA 1:1
Shine’s team of highly-trained and experienced practitioners of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), are well versed in helping your child learn complex skills, functional communication (helping your child effectively communicate what he or she wants), academic and learning readiness, self-help, and socialization. ABA uses positive reinforcement, behavior shaping, motivation, along with visual and verbal cues to help your child learn and adapt to his environment. Due to extreme variance in the presentation of ASD, each program is uniquely tailored to every child and is supervised by a Shine Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
School Shadow
Children with ASD, or other nuerodiversities, often fail to learn through typical learning methods and the Behavior Technician or “Shadow” provides consistency to the child in a setting which can otherwise be overwhelming.
Shine’s role in the classroom is to teach the child to successfully learn within the school environment, and we promote independent functioning by facilitating independent participation in the classroom. We teach skills such as: initiating and responding in the classroom, independent self-care, as well as encouraging appropriate social interaction with peers.

Shine is pleased to offer ABA services and academic support through HIPAA-compliant technology applications. Our Telehealth programs allow our behavioral experts to provide real-time training and service delivery. Our Telehealth ABA program includes Assessments and Observation, Parent education and training, ABA program implementation, and Supervision/monitoring of behavioral program by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Shine is a small BCBA owned and run company. We have a combined 50 years experience working with children. Our focus is on quality not quantity. Our BCBA’s are present and work directly with the clients and families. We create goals with the families that are tailored to meet the needs of each individual child and family. We collaborate with other professionals, which creates a more effective and comprehensive treatment outcome.
How soon can we begin services?
In most cases you can get started within 2 weeks. In some cases getting an authorization from insurance can take longer. See our intake process.
Can my child get services without a diagnosis?
We provide individualized care for children with various developmental and neurological differences, not just autism. Our methods are customized to fit each child's specific needs.
Do you take my insurance?
We are in-network with major insurance companies in California, like Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, and Cigna. Coverage may differ by your plan. Contact us for help.
